Double Dundee Jobs Boost

Two Dundee firms will create 30 new jobs after receiving cash boosts from the Scottish Executive, writes Graeme Cleland.

RSK Tech – based in Panmure street – has been awarded £250,000 as part of the Executive’s Regional Selective Assistance scheme and will create up to 20 posts. Video game development firm 4J Studios Ltd will create 10 jobs. RSK Tech, founded by Dane Anders Rask in September 2003, has been developing specialised software for textile printers for over two years. However, the firm has recently launched its products on to the international market and has since taken orders from more than 60 textile printers from 33 different countries.

Fathers’ Company Anders previously worked with his fathers’ company NS system A/S Denmark, for almost eight years, first as head of IT and later as managing director. NS System is a regional market leader in Scandinavia for small quantities of heat transfers, but Anders decided to branch out and start his own firm. Having scouted the UK for a base, he decided to locate in Dundee due to the high quality of IT graduates being produced by the city’s universities and the support available to small start up firms...

“I thought being based in the UK would be a better platform for an international business and I had some friends already living and studying in Dundee,” said Anders,

"That gave me an opportunity to scout it out and I realised it would be an ideal place to start my company” “Both universities produce plenty of high-calibre IT graduates, and the likes of the Business Gateway and the Scottish Executive provide a lot of assistance to new companies. We’re now in the process of expanding the firm to cope with the demand for our products.”

RSK Tech supplies software that helps textile companies to run their business more efficiently and sell their prints and garments with prints online. "Our products actually let textile printers continue using the tried and tested methods of screen printing but just support this traditional process so that it becomes cheaper and faster”, says RSK Tech’s Sales and Marketing Manager Anders Carlsen.
