Product launch at FESPA 2005 was an International success!
After developing specialized software for Textile Printers for more than two years,
the small Dundee, Scotland, based start-up RSK Tech Ltd. finally launched at the
FESPA 2005 exhibition in Munich in June 2005. It was a huge success as interest
and orders were recorded from more than 60 textile printers from 33 different countries.
"The FESPA exhibition is the biggest industry event worldwide in screen and digital
printing, and a large part of the more than 30,000 visitors was textile printers",
explains Director Anders Rask,
"and that's why we just had to be at FESPA
2005, and why it turned out to be the best launch event we could have hoped for!"
Anders Rask founded RSK Tech Ltd. in September 2003 after moving to Dundee, Scotland,
from Denmark. Before this he had worked with his dad's company, NS System A/S in
Denmark, for almost 8 years, first as Manager of IT and later as Managing Director.
NS System was and is a regional market leader in Scandinavia for small quantities
heat-transfers, and did in 2004 print an astounding 75,000 different heat-transfers
orders with only 70 employees in total.
"I was inspired by the impressive competence
at NS System, and was thrilled to be a part of the development of the company by
reworking the workflow and adding digital tools",
says Anders Rask,
"and it became my ambition to bring the lessons I learned there and the tools we developed
to the worldwide community of Textile Printers."
The small company was part of the British Pavilion which was organized and run with
great success by DSPA UK. A wise choice since this allowed them to keep costs and
administration at a low, while at the same time being part of the British community.
At the same time RSK Tech enrolled as a member of DSPA UK.
"Being an exhibitor
at FESPA 2005 was a marvelous personal experience",
says Anders Carlsen,
the Sales and Marketing Manager, who joined RSK Tech Ltd. in April,
"you get to talk to so many friendly people from all over the world. I couldn't have had a better
introduction to the industry."
Though only few Textile Printers had expected to find RSK Tech at FESPA 2005, most
did see the benefit of the products almost instantly. With RSK Logobank Textile
Printers can organize their graphical files efficiently and with them store data
such as a description of the artwork, any information that is needed in the production,
and what customer it may belong to. In this way everybody in an organization can
quickly and easily find the right logos, and especially for Textile Printers with
many repeat orders the savings are significant for sales, prepress, and production
departments.
Using RSK Web Express a webshop can be built on top of RSK Logobank that enables
the Textile Printer to sell textile prints and garments with prints online, and
all sorts of other related and unrelated products. Additionally RSK Web Express
includes a system that lets the Textile Printer control text, images, and layout
of the website, and enabling efficient sending of e-mail newsletters.
"Our products
actually let the Textile Printers continue using the tried and tested methods of
screen printing, but just support this traditional process so that it becomes cheaper
and faster",
says Anders Carlsen,
"and that is something that appeals to the
vast majority of Textile Printers out there."
And RSK Tech probably does have a point there: With increasing globalization and
competition from low-cost areas, Textile Printers must make efficiency, productivity,
and Customer Service their top priority - something, apparently, that RSK Tech aims
to help them with.
